Who are the Dawoodi Bohras
The Dawoodi Bohras (DB) are a small sect of Muslims mostly based in India and Pakistan but have followers all over the world. They, like other Shias believe in a line of divinely appointed Imams. However, the 21st Imam went into occultation out of fear of persecution, and is run a divinely appointed Dai al-Mutlaq. The are currently led by the 53rd Dai Mufaddal Saifuddin, who was the son of the 52nd Dai, Mohammed Burhanuddin.
After Mohammed’s death, his half-brother, Khuzaima Qutbuddin, also claimed to be his successor. Khuzaima’s followers are now led by his son Taher Fakhruddin as the 54th Qutbi Dai. They also refer to themselves as Fatimi Dawat
Aim of this Site
The current administration with DB’s are very secretive in their knowledge, and only allow their followers to learn this knowledge in Sabaqs, which happen rarely. They also aren’t allowed to take notes or buy their books. Through this site, we hope to give not only Bohras but all people knowledge of their teachings as well as criticism many have. Although accessible for everyone, a few resources are catered towards Bohras as it is in Lisaan ud-Dawat, a Gujrati-Urdu mixed language that Bohras use. Most of them are translated into English, whether from Arabic or Lisaan ud Dawat, and original copies can be found here Arabic
Sabaq List
This can also be used as a reading list. These are the most common books that are thought. Other texts like Ikhwan us Safa and other Fatamid Writings may be thought simultaneously or might be reserved for specific people such as Jamea Students, Baite Zaini and Qasre Ali. An Example of this is Kanz ul Walad which is only thought to the Successor of the Dai.
